Saks Global appointed Cheryl Han as its Chief Marketing & Digital Officer. Han will oversee the company’s marketing strategy and e-commerce operations. This new position merges two vital functions under one leader to drive sales and customer engagement, Saks Global announced Thursday.
Cheryl Han’s Return to Saks Global
Cheryl Han is returning to Saks Global after a brief departure in August. She had joined the company shortly after the $2.7 billion acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group. Han previously worked at Neiman Marcus as Chief Digital Officer and managed e-commerce and customer strategy at Bergdorf Goodman.
“We are excited to announce Cheryl Han’s appointment as Chief Marketing & Digital Officer,” said a spokesperson. “This role unites critical pillars of marketing and digital, which are key to our growth.”
Han’s Impact on Saks Global
Han’s appointment comes amid challenges for Saks Global. The company has undergone several executive changes, and its financial troubles are evident, as it filed for bankruptcy on January 14.
Saks Global’s e-commerce operations are complex. In 2021, Saks Fifth Avenue separated its digital business from the physical stores. The e-commerce division is now part of Saks Global’s Chapter 11 process and operates under a different chief restructuring officer.

Saks Fifth Avenue’s Digital Shift
Saks Fifth Avenue’s digital business faces hurdles. The company announced plans to liquidate its off-price e-commerce and close nearly 60 off-price stores. Only a few off-price locations will remain open for excess inventory sales.
Despite these difficulties, Han’s leadership is crucial. She will help guide Saks Global through its digital transformation. With her expertise, the company hopes to improve its digital and physical retail operations and stabilize during restructuring.
