L Catterton Creates Brazil Beauty Retail Giant

March 11, 2026

Brazil Beauty Retail Platform is emerging after L Catterton merged two major beauty retailers to expand nationwide operations. The private equity firm backed by LVMH combined Bel Cosméticos and Mundo do Cabeleireiro to create a larger retail network across Brazil.

Both companies built strong brands in their regions. However, their stores rarely overlapped geographically. Therefore, the merger allows the new company to expand into more markets. As a result, the Brazil Beauty Retail Platform gains a wider national presence.

L Catterton described the businesses as highly complementary. Each company built loyal customers by offering curated beauty products at competitive prices. Their stores sell hair care, skin care, cosmetics, and fragrance products across multiple price ranges.

Because the companies operate in different regions, the merger expands coverage without heavy duplication. Consequently, the new Brazil Beauty Retail Platform can serve consumers across a larger portion of the country.

The combined company plans to expand its product categories further. It will strengthen offerings in hair care, cosmetics, skin care, and fragrances. At the same time, the retailer will offer products across both affordable and premium price segments.

In addition, the company plans major investments in omnichannel retail systems. These upgrades will improve digital infrastructure and online shopping tools. Furthermore, loyalty programs will connect physical stores with digital channels.

This strategy aims to create a seamless shopping experience. Customers will move easily between online and in-store purchases. As a result, the Brazil Beauty Retail Platform can respond faster to changing consumer preferences.

The merger also strengthens the company’s position with suppliers. A larger retail network offers brands a more reliable route to market. Therefore, beauty companies can launch products more efficiently across Brazil.

Stronger supplier partnerships will also improve distribution. Suppliers will gain broader national access through a single retail partner. Consequently, the Brazil Beauty Retail Platform may attract more beauty brands seeking nationwide exposure.

Leadership will remain closely tied to the founding teams. Mundo do Cabeleireiro co-founder Celso Moraes will serve as chief executive officer of the new company. Meanwhile, co-founder Marina Moraes will join the board of directors.

Bel Cosméticos founder Ivo Barbos will also stay involved in the business. This leadership structure helps preserve the companies’ original culture. At the same time, L Catterton will provide strategic support and global expertise.

Ramiro Lauzan, managing partner of L Catterton’s Latin American fund, said the merger marks a major milestone. He explained that both companies built strong regional businesses. By combining their strengths, the firm expects to build the first truly national beauty destination in Brazil.

Brazil remains one of the world’s largest beauty markets. Demand for cosmetics, hair products, and personal care items continues to grow. Therefore, investors increasingly focus on expanding retail platforms in the sector.

Through the new Brazil Beauty Retail Platform, L Catterton aims to capture this growth. The combined business now has the scale to expand nationally. As investments continue, the platform may become one of Brazil’s most influential beauty retailers.
