French Connection Group is making a strategic move to solidify its growth in North America through a new long-term partnership with G-III Apparel Group. The collaboration, effective from 1 February, will focus on expanding French Connection’s menswear, womenswear, and selected accessories across the North American market.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in French Connection’s expansion strategy, following its takeover by MIP Holdings in November 2021. The agreement will leverage G-III’s extensive market expertise, along with its established retail relationships in North America, to accelerate French Connection’s growth and strengthen its position as a leading contemporary fashion brand. This move is part of French Connection’s broader global expansion plan, which aims to increase the brand’s presence in key international markets.
Apinder Singh Ghura, chair of French Connection Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “Since our takeover in November 2021, we have been focused on revitalizing French Connection and positioning it for long-term success. We are thrilled to partner with G-III to advance this strategy and are confident that their expertise will open up significant opportunities for French Connection in North America.”
Morris Goldfarb, Chairman and CEO of G-III Apparel Group, also highlighted the importance of the partnership in their own growth strategy. He stated, “Expanding our portfolio of strategic licenses is central to our growth plans. This partnership with French Connection allows us to leverage our infrastructure and strengths in design, sourcing, and distribution to further extend the brand’s legacy and deepen its connection with today’s consumers.”
Founded in 1972 and based in London, French Connection has established a global presence with over 200 locations worldwide. With this new partnership, the brand is poised to further its growth in North America, reaching a wider audience and solidifying its place in the competitive fashion market.
